A FEW WORDS OR MORE FROM RICHARD ANDERSON:
This is probably our most classic rock sounding song yet. Chris came to me with the idea of this track, he had the riff and he had the basis of a lyric – he just wanted me to add my 2 penneth, so I did a bit of a job of adding a few bits and pieces…keeping to the whole tongue-in-cheek-yet-actuality… kind of vibe that I heard, I think all up it is a cool tune. We originally had someone else sing this but it wasn’t quite 100%, so we went back to the drawing board (sometimes its worth sitting on something for a bit)…Carl Linquist who we discovered online is an amazing vocalist, I am pleased we were able to work with him (and will again!) as the experience of The Feckers for me has always been about working with new and interesting people from across the globe, I happen to like a few artists from Sweden. Carl reminds me a heap of Europe vocalist Joey Tempest (and no not just because they both happen to be Swedish!) on this track, which is cool by me as I think Joey is quite underrated. The crux of the message behind this tune is that we have things in life that we are seemingly addicted to – if they’re not negative or causing anybody and harm, then nobody should tell us what to do and take our forms of soul comfort away from us.

A FEW WORDS OR MORE FROM RICHARD ANDERSON:
One of the first songs I demoed when I got an acoustic guitar given to me (thanks Rob and Tim!!), I wrote this about my ex-wife when we first started communicating with one another…it will always be a special track to me, and it’s so different to anything that Chris and I had written up to that point. Chris took my original demo and gave it some decent harmonies which worked out well. We had several ideas for who we thought might sing this song, but different people attempted it and it just didn’t work for us, which is why it didn’t make the first album. However I got the brainwave of asking my good friend Yohei Eto to have a crack at it, I’d wanted to work with him again (and will again) – so the plan was to finish this up and use it as a non-album bonus track. I rather like the fact that this is a song of hope, something different for The Feckers as a lot of the concepts for our songs have been on the darker side of things. Yohei did such a wonderful job on what we were going to only release as a special demo release - we completely re-built the backing to suit the fine vocal tracks. While working on the final recording we decided that some touches of 12 string guitar would work wonderfully (Chris went and bought a 12 String specifically), in fact the 12 string was the last thing recorded for this song. It was a pleasure to have Paul Jolley lend his amazing talents to the cause in the way of his keyboard and piano playing, and as usual our friend Dennis Leeflang made sure that all was well in the drums and mixing departments.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Apparently some Russian bootleggers disguised as a record label have taken it upon themselves to include this track on a compilation called “Let’s Get Rocked Vol 21″, whilst we do not condone the idea of bootlegging other peoples hard work, we put this tune out as a free download so we hope that it is appreciated by those people who happen to own a copy of that release. To be considered worthy enough to be alongside the other artists on that compilation is a huge compliment – so for that we appreciate the kind thoughts. Thanks to Eric Ragno ( www.ericragno.com ) for bringing it to our attention!

A FEW WORDS OR MORE FROM RICHARD ANDERSON:
A nice kickass track, Chris had originally demoed this one in 2000. Once Dennis came into the scheme of things with his wonderful drumming I knew we were onto something killer here – this was the first track of ours he recorded his drums for, and for him to do it so shortly after returning from touring with Lita Ford we felt was really upstanding stuff – what a dude!
The original guitar and bass tracks were recorded in Melbourne at Reich Records during a bit of downtime when the Long boys weren’t available. Originally I sang lead on this track and Chris did some backing vocals but we felt it was a bit too weird of a fit, so we had Roy bring the evil vocally (he was asking us for more stuff to sing on…..so why not? it’d be rude not to right???).
Lyrically I think this is one of my most cynical writings – it was written at a time in my life when I was dealing with some hell…..sorry folks, but they can’t all be love songs!
We decided that it would be a cool idea to put a song out there online for people to hear so that they got a wee taste of what The Feckers was all about, and seeing as this is a shortass wee track and we always joked about not writing 3 min ditties……this is our version of a 3 min dittie!!!
