Album Update – 27.05.2012!!!

Just a quick check in from Chris Szkup to let you all in on the progress with “It’d Be Rude Not To” as of late May, 2012!!

Last month the majority of the mixing was carried out by the mighty Stew Long down at Red Planet in what can only be described as a mammoth effort!! Some of the tracks have so much stuff in them, often they have been recorded in a few different countries depending on the instrument, and a lot of them are fairly long songs as well. We’re stoked to have the main man on the job of mixing and mastering, and the stuff is sounding incredible.

A really great part of working with Stew on the stuff is how on the same page we are about things – that often won’t happen in the studio with someone, so it’s really refreshing when it does. In a way it’s hard to believe that I’ve been working with him on stuff for 7 years now. They say time flies when you’re having fun, well it seems like we first met maybe a year or two ago. But going back to the mixes – In that first round of mixing there were at least a couple of songs that were album ready as far as the mix went.

Since then we’ve been listening, making notes, looking for anything that might need to be tweaked. As of this week those additions are starting to go into the mixes, so we’re a couple more songs on that number – what a thrill!!!
